Why families choose us

Why The Music Nest?

One studio, taught by one educator, built for every age in the family — not just the kids.

Founder Chieng Lee Zse

One Educator, 20 Years

Every class is taught by founder Chieng Lee Zse herself — not handed off to a rotating roster of junior instructors.

One-to-one guidance during a lesson

Paced to the Student

Every student learns differently, so lesson pace and material are shaped around them, not a fixed syllabus.

Certificate presentation after an exam milestone

ABRSM & Trinity Ready

Structured, optional exam preparation for both ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses, plus DSA audition coaching.

Audience at a public student recital

A Stage, Every Year

An annual public recital gives every student — beginner to Grade 8 — a real audience and a reason to polish a piece.

Group of children at a warm, supportive class

Encouraged, Never Pressured

A nest is where growth begins — students are supported into progress, not pushed into it.

Adult student learning piano at The Music Nest

Genuinely All Ages

From Little Nestlings at age 4 to Golden Melodies for adults and the silver generation — the whole family can learn here.

Meet the founder

Chieng Lee Zse

Chieng Lee Zse has spent 20 years doing one thing: helping students fall in love with music before they fall in love with grades. Trained in piano performance in London, she has since guided students from their very first keyboard exploration through to Grade 8 with Distinction — and everywhere in between.

Her past students describe her the same way, decade after decade: patient, warm, and impossible to lose interest around. She's known for making room for the child who's reluctant to perform, and for the adult who swore they'd missed their chance — and for hosting an annual public recital where every single student gets a turn on stage.

The Music Nest 乐巢 is Chieng Lee Zse's own studio: a space built the way she's always wanted to teach — small classes, a real grand piano, and room to grow, for every age.

2004

Completes piano performance training in London.

2006

Begins teaching piano in Singapore, starting with a handful of students.

2014

2020

Questions parents ask us

Is The Music Nest a newly opened studio, and is it safe to commit to? +

The physical studio at The Promenade @ Pelikat is new, but founder Chieng Lee Zse has been teaching piano for over 20 years, with a track record of students reaching ABRSM and Trinity Grade 8 with distinction and performing at annual public recitals.

Do you prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity and DSA auditions? +

Yes. Nest Ensemble and Private 1-to-1 lessons follow ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses, and students preparing for DSA auditions get tailored repertoire and audition coaching.

Is The Music Nest only for children? +

No. Little Nestlings starts from age 4, and Golden Melodies is a dedicated programme for adults and the silver generation, including complete beginners.

What's the difference between Nest Buddies, Nest Ensemble and Private lessons? +
